Our Mission

To break cycles of poverty and elevate rural Salvadoran communities through innovative and pertinent education for youth.

Our Vision

We envision a healthy, safe, and prosperous El Salvador where youth and their families can build a future to stay. Together, we will prepare our young people with the technical and human qualities that allow them to shape their own future with security and quality.

Our History

In 2007, a small group of U.S. Americans and Salvadorans gathered in Perquín, Morazán, El Salvador and concluded an educational effort was needed to overcome local socio-economic stagnation. From this meeting was born PEOF, driven largely by Ronald Brenneman, a U.S. American who has been linked with the people of Morazán since 1983 when much of the population found refuge in Honduras.

Donald Warnick of Lancaster, PA served as the first President of PEOF from 2008 up until his passing in 2019.

Ronald Brenneman served as the first Secretary of PEOF and legal representative in El Salvador from 2008 until 2020. He remains as a legal advisor to PEOF to assist with organizational growth.
